After 3 hours of watching Avatar in 3D I left the cinema with a splitting headache that lasted 24 hours. If this is gonna happen after every gaming session (whether its a 1 hour or 3 hour session) I'll probably opt out of this revolution.
Its wierd – my sister complained of the exact same thing, and I had to ask if she was being serious or just saying that it was frustrating to watch – she was serious. I had no such experience. It must have something to do with how your brain is processing the image, since really the 3D is just an illusion created by tricking the eyes and brain. That kinda sucks – I wonder if the non-glasses tvs I mentioned above would still do that to you.

Member@tdsoil – heh, I knew it was a joke, but sometimes it really does appear that I have no life. I had Gow and Gow2 lined up, and was working on bioshock, I'm a little over halfway thru on survivor mode no vitas, and just need to finish that. I'm kinda glad actually that I'm out, since these goals were turning my games into a tedious chore rather than fun (still fun games though), and I just recieved bioshock 2 and am waiting for heavy rain to come, I'd really rather just play them and relax by exploring and not worrying about how much time its taking. I definitely could have done MW2 and AC2 immediately afterwards… but I'll just save these for later this year when I'm not buying games and feel like re-exploring my old ones a bit.
Good luck to you both – but I'm going to root for the AU crew… I may be a bit biased since a certain girl I know is australian and has basically convinced me I should move there someday… heh.
@Oz – Hack the plat? how so? are you referring to glitching high explosives?
BigWoopMagazine
Memberyou need to shock or freeze the turrets first. It is the same with the flying sentries. I think you need to do the cameras too, but I'm not totally sure on that. Anyway – they fixed this in Bio2, so it may be a bit confusing since in the sequel you don't need to shock them. Shocking is generally a good idea anyway though – it stuns them and they don't shoot as you approach them. Freezing them is a really good idea (once you get that ability) since it slows the fluid down while you are hacking, and won't damage your turret. Also, when you get the research camera take as many pictures as freaking possible of the turrets – at some point you will get an auto hack causing all turret hacks to be automatically successful, saving a ton of time and frustration later in the game.

I know “they” are trying to make it the next big technology, but I just don't see many ppl wanting to wear those goofy glasses all the time…
Right – however, one of my supervisors told me recently that while walking through the hospital we work in, he saw a 3D monitor. Ahem… let me reiterate – while walking around he saw a 3D image on a tv. He wasn't wearing 3D glasses. I don't know how they do it, and I haven't seen it myself, but it probably has something to do with holographic imaging. As far as my searches go I can't find one marketed to the public – I'm sure its enormously expensive and probably only used for diagnostics, this is generally where you'll find the best imaging tech in the world. But if it exists now, I predict that one day in the distant future it will be in our homes for an affordable price. That would be AWESOME.
But holy crap – proof that its in the works (and this article actually explains sort of how it works). Note its two years old, I'm sure R&D has been working on it since.

Memberuhhhh steve-o, the bet hasn't started yet, its not too late to discuss the terms of said bet. At least, I would argue that were I you,,, its probably worth while to get something for risking your car and your dignity.

The borderlands DLC trophies are a diff. colour to the main game trophies… I think that's a pretty neat, if not simple idea…
thats true. I was surprised the arena ones were still orange actually – I assume the zombie Island ones were just to stick with the holloween theme.

MemberWhat I've been wondering for a while is if they plan on charging for Home once its no longer in the “Open Beta” stage. Thats usually what happens – beta's are free, glitches get fixed, then the final version releases for retail. Considering its not that appealing while its free, it'd be stupid, but I could see it happening. I do like the free chess game… thats… about it though.
BigWoopMagazine
Memberheh – good luck dude. GOW1 and 2 are some easy plats too, borderlands is easy but time consuming. Trine is definitely do-able, you'll just want a guide to find all the exp potions. What happens if you lose?

MemberIm really confused about the name of this thread. I also never realized there was a difference in difficulty, I thought they were both supposed to be real freakin' hard.

I think it worked so well in games like LBP and Uncharted because those games were fairly linear. You still had to search the environment but it didn't require endless wandering, hoping to stumble across an item. The 300 ore patches in Red Faction were a head-wrecker to find and the bound serpents in Brutal Legend still have me doing laps of the game.
And lets not forget Far Cry 2. Some times I get the urge to try and find all the diamonds but I've yet to hate myself enough
Thats a good point. Open world games can be a real bitch, and those particular two games are definitely. I think Brutal is a little easier since you can get to know the game world by what it looks like. Red Faction was horrible because everything looks the same – I'll probably never get that trophy.

Anyone else notice the new trophy icons look different for this? They have a little plus symbol in a circle in the top left corner… Don't understand why it's different but then again I don't understand alot of things sony does lol
I think the plus sign simply means that they are add-ons and that you need to buy the DLC to unlock them.
+=add get it?
That makes sense. I wish some other games would do that actually, if thats the case – for example – LBP. The new water add – on is playable without buying it, as long as a friend who owns it hosts the game, but you still can't earn the trophies. Not a big deal, but its nice to have clarification.

Member@tdsoil – hahaha, unfortunately I do have a life. I will be dropping out of the contest, as I'm going away for the weekend. I was just lucky on the past weekends that I didn't have anything going on really. My next plats were going to be GOW1 and 2 anyway, which are cake, since I did everything required for that and more back when they were released on PS2. Ohhhh well…. good luck guys.
PS: 99% of my posts are made while I'm bored at work, and most of my gaming is done on weeknights, where I don't go out due to having work the next day. This is why I appear to have no life. Work sucks.
BigWoopMagazine
Member@KoG – right now I think you're better off waiting to get something bigger anyways – with sony's new 3D revolution on the way, you could wait until the 3D tvs have saturated the market a little more, and hopefully by then they'll have made some improvements and dropped the prices, so maybe you could get one of those and really take advantage of the power in your ps3. At least, thats what I'm waiting for. My tv is only a year old and has a good lot of life to it, so I'm just going to watch how the 3D market goes for a while and plan on my next tv being involved with that.
