Memberyea, I have no desire to boost. its come to a point with me where if thats what I have to do, I'm just not bothering (resistance 2, brutal legend, anyone?). However, I kinda enjoy this MP for a few rounds (it gets tired after an hour or two), so if you feel like breaking it up with some actual games, hit me up. I think its fun to experiment with the different load out options to see what combination of plasmids and weapons work well. Also, in a world of run and gun shooters that pretend to not be run and gun shooters (cod, resistance2, bfbc2, anyone?) , I like that this doesn't try to hide it for a second.
On another note, is that really the quickest way to gather ADAM? I know many levels have vials of it scattered about, but haven't determined if they always spawn in the same spots. Might be worth while to collect those. Also – capturing sisters and taking down big daddies garner decent extra points, couldn't you spam that in a non-competitive manner?

This isnt really the best time to post this Edge, considering Microsoft has attack PSN (joke)
What? I missed something here on that one…
And uh, this sounds 20 times more boring than just playing the game… wouldn't it be more fun to just figure out how to woop some ass in this? I'm only level 8 and have some techniques that have me woopin on people with level 20-30… I'm not getting 1000 ADAM a round, but I am having more fun than if I just stare at a turret and hold the X button for hours on end…

i wouldnt think big ears would help. it might allow him to hear sound a lot better.
or you could just turn up the volume…

MemberNope – totally a saber tooth tiger skull
The extra looking holes are because of the ears. Almost all animal skulls have that, and here the positioning of the cat ears is where the extra eyes are for the chimera. Sorry to bust the bubble guys.

Memberok… I'm confused and don't know what you did, but its cool, whatever dude

MemberWell – I have played and beat the game fully and here is my spoiler free opinion. First, download the update, in NA its 225 MB, and fixes some issues in the beginning of the game. I personally had ZERO issues during the entire game.
The game starts off kinda slow, and lets you get adjusted to the controls. It had me skeptical at first, as I found myself wishing there was a specific run command. As I progressed I realized its uneccesary, when you need to run, you will run. If you could all the time I think you would look over a lot of environmental details that are important (as well as quite a few that are just kinda there). After a few scenes the story picks up, and quickly becomes an intriguing mystery full of rich characters who all may or may not be the killer you are hunting. It really kept me guessing the whole time, and I just found that I couldn't put it down without finishing it – I just needed to solve this game. If you want a deep intense story line full of emotional moments as well as action packed scenes, look no further. If you're like me, and are skeptical about the control scheme and actual gameplay, then play for at least one hour. By then you should know whether you want to find the killer, or if you want to go back to the mindless shooter games that plague the industry. Its really difficult to describe this any further without spoiling it. The game should take about 10-12 hours to complete, so @Leiran – while you should absolutely pick it up and try it, I don't think it will keep you occupied for several months. There is definitely some replayability here – you can see a chapter list in the main menu, and after beating it I was still missing many chapters, and within each of them there are many choices that effect not only the outcome of that particular situation, but future ones, and its often times hard to tell how they will until you get to it.
On a graphical note – clearly this game shines in that department. The facial detail is simply amazing, along with many of the emotions depicted by the characters. It is far from perfect however – any scenes where the characters touch each other (not fighting, but a hug or pat on the back, etc.) look kind of hokey – they are supposed to be touching each other but their hands are actually floating an inch away, or something to that effect. Its not a big deal, this still is hands down one of the best looking games out there, and certainly shows what potential there is for improvement in the future.
In conclusion – JUST TRY IT. And keep in mind, this is definitely intended for the mature audience, not just because you see some digital boobs, but because of the riveting story line and incredibly dramatic and tragic sequences through out it.

MemberThats cool – a good explanation of what to expect. Reconfiguring load outs in a rush is something I'm used to from going thru all the weapon challenges in cod4.
From my initial play (about 2 hours last night) I do feel that the gameplay was barely improved upon. Thats okay though, as while playing the original recently I felt like it was still a fantastic game by current standards. I really like the improvements they did make – the third weapon upgrade is real interesting, I'm especially interesting in upgrading my drill for the reflector. Being able to wield a plasmid while using your weapon really makes using them in conjunction so much smoother, its great. I'm really curious about what plasmid upgrades there are, the only one I know of is for incinerate. I'm glad the health has been redirected to the d-pad, I constantly used my health by accident in the original trying to crouch after playing too much cod4. And despite the criticism I've seen about the story, I like how it is set up so far. I feel like a lot of people expected more out of it, little realising that part of what made the originals so great was that there was a huge story about Rapture being told along side of the character's story. Now we already know about Rapture, so the only new part is about your character, which leaves less mystery, but it is still intriguing to me.
@yakumo – I got the impression from the article I read that the SP DLC will somehow be an extension to the story line, rather than challenge rooms. It also hinted at the possibility of more new weapons/plasmids of somesort, but was rather vague on that.

what he said
thats one hell of an arrow symbol. To reclarify though – all security devices require a shock to hack. All vending devices do not. An easy way to tell is if you can take a picture with the research camera, indicating that the device counts as an enemy. Also, once the device has been hacked, you will no longer be able to take pictures. That auto hack feature is also a bonus for the flying sentries, but you will not acquire it for the cameras – you only get slowed down fluid while hack them as a bonus.

I’d say trade in your YLOD when it’s fixed and get a new console. You might be tempting fate to coax your PS3 back to life and then launch into a week long plat marathon
i already have a 250gb slim im selling the 40gb on ebay if i get it working. then wen it sells the month long challenge begins!! it all rests on my 40gb being fixed because thats where im getting the funds to buy the games so fingers crossed im able to fix it so i can WIN the challenge lol
and this is precisely the reason I will never buy a PS3 off e-bay…

One of the semi-recent PS3 software updates allowed developers to group the trophies by main game/add-on, so if you go into the trophy list for Uncharted 2 and hit Triangle, then Square, it'll give you two seperate progress bars for your trophies, one for Main Game or Core Game and one for Add-on Content or DLC. The older games don't do it cause that was before the support was implemented and I guess they either can't or don't feel like updating it.
Edit: You can see it in Army of Two: The 40th Day as well, even though they don't have any DLC yet.
The developers need to patch the games specifically to implement this feature – but it can be done to older games. I think its a feature that isn't going to get top priority from devs when it comes to patching.

lol Ninja's post has a -10!! LOL!!
anywho, I'm looking forward to that DLC, i really love this game!
I have been playing the multiplayer almost non-stop since i beat single-player. I knew this game would be good, but it really impressed me so much! Really wasn't expecting much from MP, but it is excellent! So much fun! And the SP was really freaking amazing!
A fantastic game. Get it.
I've gotten some really mixed reviews on the MP… I'm going to try it tonight when I get home, if I like it I'm hitting you up for some rounds.

Member@miiiitch – ah, did not realize that hack existed. I don't see why you would use it, since most of the ops are pretty easy except high explosives, and even then theres a really lame glitch for it. I guess in the interest of saving time though….
and I'm biased because said girl is really hot, and talks about australia a lot. mmmm… hot aussie girls….

Memberhmm – is it for all games or just fifa and uncharted? My friend has an older HDTV where the input will only recieve the video signal for his sound. As a result we have to use AV cables for the audio only, and set the output of the PS3 for sound to AV, and then make sure the tv is set to recieve sound through that while on the HD signal for video. Its goofy. You could try doing the audio video reset when starting the ps3 (press and hold power on until it beeps again) and seeing if it will auto detect for video and sound (it doesn't always work right, since it doesn't with my friend's set that I mentioned).

MemberI would go with the rental switch ratchet, since buying even a used copy of the game is going to cost you 3 times as much.
