oh i know that and i totally agree with oyu, where did you get 3rd from?
hah, yeah he had 132… which is still a bit above turd.
Anyway… @Barkie – I was trying to keep it around $60. I was dissapointed looking online to find that a controller and nunchuck adds up to exactly that… I kinda thought,,, ohhh wii, thats the cheapie console, stuff will be less expensive. I could spend more, considering shes the only member of my family thats actually cool. hehe…I didn't realize that the system came with a nunchuck either, I thought it was just a wand. good to know.
@Parnakas – yeah I was looking at that wii play bundle, seemed like it would be good to get a second controller and a game… just a matter of whether or not the game is any good.
So basically I'm getting the impression that the wand and nunchuck are the important things… and the rest of the accessories are basically useless chunks of plastic that are marketed to seem useful. I'm amazed I can't seem to find a wand and nunchuck bundle, seems odd, I would think they go together, why not sell them together? Anyway, thanks for the advice guys! I'm gonna go pick this stuff up tonight after work, and that completes my xmas shopping.

Edit: I just read that this could happen from glitching on HOME. I did this, so did my friend that got banned. Oh snap!
Edit 2: I just read that the PS3 ban can last 2 months. Oh Snap!!!
wow, banned for glitching in Home? That seems pretty retarded. Last I checked Home was still in Beta form, right? Ohhh,,, doesn't that mean that it may or may not have tons of glitches, and that any users are simply testing it to find said glitches, so that Sony can fix them? Seems to me that Sony should be fixing their errors, rather than banning you for doing their job by finding it for them. If thats what did it, I'm sorry to hear that, and it sounds like total bullshit to me.

why are so many games bringing out DLC really quickly i haven't even got the game yet same goes for borderlands
A lot of developers plan the DLC mid developing process. Its like they make a huge list of things they want to do. Usually, theres more things on the list than is possible to do within the available time frame and budget. The things that get cut, go to planned DLC. Borderlands crew announced from the start that there would be DLC, Zombie Island was already being made when it released, and they announced shortly after the release on their forums that the second DLC would be entirely based on customer feedback to improve the game. Seems like a great idea to me. The game is complete without them, but better with them. Its entirely optional, but worth the measely $10.
AC2 its the same thing, they pretty much planned it from the get go. The full story was complete, the game is huge without it, but hey, if you beat it and want more, the option is there. Cool! full steam ahead!
PoP pissed me off. The ending left you hanging, then the DLC was short as hell, and only extended that hanging ending. Damn, they screwed us.
@Knightmare – thats some good prices – $4 for DLC? yeah, I think I can do that.
EDIT: Sorry – I turn into a windbag when I'm bored at work.

MemberI think this is the gladiator trophy? Not sure. But if it is…
Start with the dark priest. Use his life drain on the enemies, and inbetween rounds switch weapons to heal your allies. This is by far the easiest one.
Also, there is a glitch, allowing you to get the archer out of the way, which I think is one of the harder ones. While playing as the priest, get to the second last round with as many allies as possible alive. Allow one allied archer to die (just don't heal him before that second last round). When he does, pick up his hat. It will change you to the archer class. Completing the last two rounds will count it as completion with the archer.
Beyond that, the next easiest one is the worker. Just jump a whole lot to avoid arrows, and chuck bombs constantly (don't charge them, it doesn't change the damage just their range).
Really to get past these you have to memorize the pattern of the waves, so that you can take out the important enemies first. Always try to take out priests first, since they heal everyone else. Always jump a lot to avoid arrows and mage spells. Watch out for fire priests – they spell doom unless you get to the water on the left or right really quickly.
Thats about all I got for you, I never beat them all.

that isnt an answer to my question. i posted that question to maybe a real answer. i dont need your idiotic comments. if your going to not be helpful then pleast dont post.
You raise a good point here. This is part of why Ratchet has so many posts. I'm pretty sure they just kinda update it when they feel like it, it used to always be updated by the time I get home from work (~5pm EST), but now its more like 8 or 9pm or later even. I don't even know what time it finally updated yesterday cause I gave up.
And yea Ratchet, it does matter. Its annoying that I have to quit my games and check the store 8 fricking times to see if it updated so I can play the GT5 demo. If there was a set time it would save me this hassle. One day you might mature and realize that it can be important to do things in a prompt and timely manner, or it pisses other people off.

MemberDemo releases in the US today. For anyone who doesn't already know – place first in the world on the time trial, and you win a contest. The prize? Drive a fully loaded 370z in an actual real life race. Pretty sweet.

Awsome
. I love old PoP. I heard so many bad thing about the new one that I did not even played it. Hope it was not a mistake.
I would say it might be worth a rental. I think it was just a major dissapointment, because they departed from all the things that made the others great. The combat is clunky feeling, and is always one on one, theres virtually no puzzles (I think theres actually 2, total.), the time manipulation mechanic is gone, which was really fun, you can't die, and all the platforming is super super obvious. On the other hand, it is a beautiful looking game, and worth a playthrough. Its still kinda fun the first run through, but I don't think its worth buying.
On another note – I read some more about the upcoming game. It will take place between the events of The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Apparently the prince travels to another castle to visit his brother, and some sort of crazy crap happens. They've confirmed a return to the root game mechanics, with multi enemy fights, time manipulation, and “epic moments”, which I assume are some sort of QTE scenes or rediculous boss fights. And I'm assuming you can die. yay! I never thought I'd be so happy about being able to die!
So what I'm wondering is, are they ditching the other PoP story line they started and left us hanging with? Or is it just coming later? I'm still kinda confused on that note.

Memberyea the whole cursing thing seems retarded, considering we get censored anyway. Plus, the chat rooms require you to be invited, and if you don't like whats being said you leave, so I really don't even understand the censorship. It seems really gay to me though that they would close your account and not at least tell you why or give you a warning.
I'll check tonight when your last sign in was, and post it here tomorrow.

gingerninja1140 – couldn't agree more.. Why does every developer think online needs to be there? It doesn't..
But on the other hand, i never thought Uncharted needed multiplayer, but when it got it.. it was brilliant. But i have heard that Bioshock 2 multiplayer is not that good.. but we will see.
Whatever happens, happens. Lets wait till we get some more info on this game, as long as their is a single player experience which is half as good as the last one, i will be a happy customer!
Well… I think there could be some real potential with the multiplayer. I got the GI mag with the exclusive news – in it they said that many developers are coming to the conclusion that without multiplayer the game loses replayability. Without that, people get tired quick and return it, or just rent it, or whatever, it equals less sales. Visceral said that you will be able to “dismember your friends”, which gives me the impression it will be a sort of L4D style thing, with some people as the humans, and others as the necromorphs hunting them down. Could be pretty cool. “Hang on a mo, while I scra- aaaaaGGGHAHHHHHHHH!!!!! ouuuuccchhh….mah bawls…”
Also – they revealed that the game will begin on a giant space station named the Sprawl, 3 years after the events of the original. In the beginning, the necromorphs will not have attacked yet, so Isaac will experience the outbreak first hand this time. Since he has survived a previous encounter with the necromorphs, and knows how to dispatch him, people will turn to him for help and advice, elevating him to a hero role. However, his mind is still affected by his encounter with the marker 3 years previous, and his level of psychosis will play a large role in the game. This time around you are more prepared to face the necromorphs, and won't always feel like your short on ammo, overwhelmed, and in confined spaces. The sprawl will feature bigger open areas, intelligent enemies that require strategy to take out, and powerful weapons to wreak havoc on the necromorphs. However, there will still be times you have to leave the safer vicinities and explore places with limited resources, that will probably scare the living crap outta you. Thats the basic summary of the GI 6 page special. Awesome.

Memberso wait, we're all going by our own personal time zones – not one standard zone? technically if you went by a standard zone, we'd all still get 24 hours. I think it'd be simpler that way – for you.

Its not more on the GoTY decision any more BigWoop , its come down to ignorance how much more we can take of it , generally coming from Knoxie . Personally i can care less about this whole GoTY decision , because i made mine and its neither Uncharted 2 or Modern Warfare 2 . So im no longer going to be in this whole mess on whats better , its come down to a more personal note , and i think most of us can agree with what i might come to say in the future , if things get out of hand .
True sir. Thats why I spoke about the whole accepting eachothers opinions bullshit bulshit. plus, usually when I post something really long winded like that, it ends the thread. also, the rest of it was more of a general response to the ten million damn threads about goty this goty that. not just this thread. ah well.
BigWoopMagazine
Memberyet another reason why I'm still surprised how many people are touting this is the greatest game ever. Its one of the glitchiest games ever. Usually nerds raise hell over a glitch ridden readily hackable game, since it ruins the experience. But ohhhh no… not for cod. nope. cod can do no wrong… we forgive you IW for releasing something that wasnt bug tested because you knew it would sell anyway!!
On a serious note – I don't understand why people do this either, for the same reason you guys do. Running around a level killing 25 ducks in a row, over and over and over… where the hell is the fun in that?!

MemberIf your talking about your trophy ranks then no. However, there are a number of websites you can sign up to and give them your account name (NAME ONLY!), and they can read your trophies off the sony website and post it on their own leaderboards (I think playfire does this). The thing is, then you're only being compared to other people on that website, not the worldwide PSN network. I frankly don't understand why sony hasn't implemented their own leaderboard yet. It seems dumb to give us trophies, the ability to compare between other players, and even levels based on your trophy amounts, and then not give us leaderboards.
BigWoopMagazine
MemberI was trying to stay out of this, but I feel I need to interject. Part of having a conversation is having respect for eachother's opinions. Part of doing that is realizing that you may never agree. Accepting the fact that you disagree and moving on is important, because this argument is getting old. Actually its been old. It was old before either of these games even released. Its rediculous. Lets weigh out the facts for a moment between these two heavy weight contenders. Lets also keep in mind I'm leaving the originals out of this entirely.
Graphics: Uncharted 2 undoubtedly takes the cake.
Story: Once again, Uncharted 2 takes the cake.
Length: Arguable. Campaign, Uncharted 2. Multiplayer, MW2, since it has more levels. You could argue that theres prestiging to add to the length, but really, that aint doing squat, its just giving you another way to compare rank.
Innovation: Equal. Neither game has any innovation to speak of. There is nothing new. A whole lot of pretty stuff that looks cool and seems cool, but its all old stuff disguised as new. Sorry, thats the truth.
Controls: again, equal. Both have solid responsive control schemes.
Replayability: Equal. Play the story through of either, cool. You'll see nothing new on the next run. Play a few hours of multiplayer, cool, you've seen everything there is to see.
Overall Campaign: Uncharted 2, hands down from every angle. Better acting, script, cinematics, longer levels, etc…
Overall Multiplayer: MW2, hands down, from every angle. More guns, more customization, more maps, more modes, etc…
Fun: Now here's the kicker folks. They're both fun! What makes one better than the other? Which one is more fun! to you! personally!
Everyone is going to have their preference on which is more fun, and thats what they will argue is the best, regardless of the facts! Accept it! I like uncharted 2 more, but am I gonna bash knoxie for enjoying MW2 more? Hell no! And I hope he doesn't bash me for liking uncharted 2 more, because it would be bullshit! So… can we settle the petty argument on the basis that no ones going to budge and so what who cares? By the way, all those stupid categories I rated, were totally off the top of my head opinions, that I'm sure someone will argue. awesome. That said, heres my two cents on GOTY:
Generally, game of the year is awarded to an exemplary title that is full of innovation. A game that brings us something great that we've never seen before. I've seen almost none of that this year, this was the year of the sequels. This was the year where every developer said “hey, what works? cool, lets do that again, but do it better”, and thats fine. I had a lot of fun with those games. This is why its hard to nail down a GOTY though, everyone just basically polished the good stuff. Thats why I would like to give special recognition to Borderlands for being the most innovative thing I've seen this year. Its a great fusion of two great genres, brings me back to the days of Diablo (god I played way too much of that), has tons of replayability, more co op than any other game I've seen on console, and is continually expanding with updates and DLC. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it deserves more credit than it got. Also, Batman AA and Infamous deserve some attention for being new IPs that smacked us in the face and showed us what awesome is. While I'm not opposed to great sequels, here's me hoping to see more innovation and new IPs in the coming year (I'm banking on Heavy Rain!) because I see a lot of sequels again, like Bioshock 2, Dead Space 2, more Final Fantasies, and God of War 3. Hmmm… being creative with a sequel… now hey… theres an idea. Hopefully one of those contenders will bring that to fruition (I'm lookin' at you Bioshock!).
Sorry for the essay guys, but this whole argument has been pissing me off!

Memberwell its time to revive this thread. It was announced a few days ago (but I didnt read about it until now) that the new DLC for borderlands is coming, dec 29th for xbox, january 7th for ps3, unannounced for PC. It will feature several arenas, with small and large tournaments, the largest of which taking about 6 hours to complete (and it has to be done in one sitting). Also, a chest of some sort to store loot in will be included, and your characters will be able to earn 2 extra skill points. Read the full article here:
If what is said here is true, it should provide a real challenge for anyone even at level 50. As a result I am thinking about just doing some straight loot running with my Siren lvl 50. I believe I'm at the point in the story where you need to meet with Taylor Kobb (oddly, exactly where Weaver was a month ago when he wanted to loot run). I also have level 22 beserker and level 25 hunter at the moment, if anyone just wants to play in general. I'm a huge fan of this game, I dunno if you guys are, so I'm definitely getting the new DLC, let me know if you're considering it too.
