MemberI doubt it, although we might get a demo of R&C: ACIT. guess we'll find out in about 2 hours when the update hits for this week though.

Memberwow I don't see for a second how you could but Infamous in there. It might not be your style of game, but dude, it had a clutch story, awesome powers, fantastic graphics, and a pretty much flawless control scheme. Whereas games like bionic commando with its shitty level designs and glitchy game play are out there. Or games that are just flat out horrible in every aspect like Leisure Suit Larry, Sonic Unleashed, GIJoe, Terminator Salvation, and Mercenaries 2. Now THOSE GAMES SUCK. Infamous and Prototype both had fun moments, although prototype definitely has some major flaws (graphics, too many moves, confusing controls). Talking worst games, the name Infamous should never come up.

MemberWhat is what exactly? the skill trees or the game?

MemberWell, all I see coming up in the RPG genre is White Knight Chronicles, which might be what you're looking for, or Alpha Protocol and Borderlands, which definitely aren't what you're looking for (although they both look to have a lot of potential). I've been wondering the same thing though,,, there used to be a day where they were so epic and so long it'd take a good 40 hours to beat the game, but I didn't mind spending 90 hours finding all the side quests etc. The last game I did that with was Fallout 3… which while its definitely a different style RPG, its still really good. I really do miss games like Breath of Fire, Legend of Dragoon, and Final Fantasy VII. I think the real problem is that for most of them any real strategy has gone out the window, in favor of trying to find new battle systems. I'm really interested in trying out Demon's Souls, maybe the difficulty factor will cause a need for greater strategy.

i dont know how to solve this.. like i said, its all opinion-based, and some people take it too far…
like you.
and some people dont go with their true opinions and have to agree with others.
and if you choose a mint game like FIFA 10 which i bet the fuckers havent even played they say its “stupid”.
Going to the point of calling people “Fuckers” on a forum because Ratchet said ” Are you serious?” is over the limit . Parnakas doesnt go too far , we were given something beautiful called “FREEDOM OF SPEECH” and hes simply using it , not offending anyone in any way . Perhaps you take it too far , maybe i do too . Personally i think we should all stop the bullshit and let the pros and legit judges of gaming decide for now ..
I'm becoming inclined to agree. I posted earlier about how could we solve this and settle the argument, and it was more a rhetorical sarcastic question than anything… but uh… that didn't really come across now. I think by arguing over which game is best, we forget about all the other great games out, that might not be “the best” but are still awesome and deserve attention. Games such as InFamous, Red Faction Guerilla, Resident Evil 5, Batman AA, and even some upcoming ones, like Borderlands, AC2, and Alpha Protocol (which may have been delayed). They're all awesome, or look like they will be, but as soon as we talk GOTY it goes to Uncharted 2 and MW2 and thats pretty much it. Can we just agree that they're awesome and lets go shoot some people? (or in knoxies case, kick a ball around from time to time?)

Member@redbren – its funny, after posting that yesterday I went home and turned on some South Park, and the particular episode was all about the news and media being very negative, and everyone in town just buying into it, as if there was nothing positive in the world just because the news never talks about it. Good stuff.
@iruleu – the short term memory “damage” is really temporary. Waiting for the chemical to process out of the body brings mental abilities back… they just are inhibited by it, not damaged. Also, if it were legal then smoking it wouldn't be necessary. Large quantities would be easy to obtain for cooking and eating. People still do this in countries where it is illegal, but in legalized areas its much much more common. Not that I'm encouraging or condoning the use of, I just wanted to point out that it doesn't have to be physically harmful.
I guess really the point is though, any way you look at it, ciggs are bad for you. Weed and alcohol are arguable, its kind of a gray area. Responsible individuals who use it only every once in a while, it can be okay. Hey, I like to go out and get drunk on a weekend sometimes, and thats my right. I still go to work and contribute to society. But that kind of responsibility is learned and earned. That's part of growing up. Good luck guys.

MemberHoly poop on a stick, theres way more eternal levels than I thought; Here's a list:

soooo disregard my last post!

Memberhmmm… honestly I'm going to have to go home and look back at my PSN games to see what I've got…. My only problem with this here is that once I buy a PSN game in any genre, I've seen no reason to buy another… and I can't rent them. However I will say right off the bat
Puzzle – Echocrome
Strategy – Pixel Junk Monsters
Racing – WipEout HD
consider it my nominations for the moment. Also, some PSN games have been “concept games” that don't really fit a genre. Many people on this site have expressed a fondness for Flower, which I feel the same way, but I'm not sure how to put that in a genre. Pixel Junk Eden is great too,,, I suppose we could call that a platformer. I assume we don't include PSone games, since they arent really new, just available in a different format.

MemberI think the trophies on this game are glitched! I swear I completed all the levels last night. When I completed the final eternal level and got to the main menu it said “Updating trophies” but no trophy popped up. I played the final classic level immediately afterwards and it did the exact same thing again. Any one else have this problem?
BigWoopMagazine
Memberuhhh technically speaking, I guess we should list all of them. I would say limit it to PS3, since clearly thats what we all play… and yeah, there'll be some crap on the list,,, so if you forget to list something and no one calls it out, well, then who cares?
BigWoopMagazine
Memberwell… heh, we have until the end of the year to figure this out… I gotta do some actual work at the moment, but maybe later I'll come up with that list… which will be any game released in 2009.

MemberLA isn't as bad as it sounds, I have some friends who moved out there after college, and I interviewed at UCLA for a job. The thing with it is when you see headlines its always about the bad news, rarely the good news… and that can be generalized to the world. People love to read about misery.
@WarGear – yeah thats right I spelled it with letters cause I didn't feel like figuring out the numbers… heh. any way, yeah friends do play a huge influencial part in our lives. Just don't forget, smoking ciggerettes may be a dumb choice, but it doesn't make you a bad person. Don't shun anyone for making their decisions, just make sure you keep making your own decision.
@WW2Fighter – The legality of weed and tobacco are both based on taxation in the US, although many people (generally any school “educational” staff) will try to tell you otherwise. General summary of what happened: the cannibus plant has a root portion known as hemp. When fully grown hemp has a large number of uses and a main one is pulp production. This pulp can be used to make paper. When the US was being founded, the people founding it were rich white land owners. Despite creating a “land of the free”, really they wanted to create a land free of England's taxation, and keep their money. At the time, the way to do this was by having land full of trees that could be sold for money, which would keep them in power. The hemp from cannibus was seen as a threat to their business, and since they were in power, they made it illegal. Of course, to help justify this they spread tons of propaganda about how it was the devil's weed, and its evil, etc etc blah blah blah to hide the truth. Again, a very very general summary there. Now fast forward to present date. Marijuana is still illegal, even though there are known medicinal uses for it. Tobacco is legal, with no medicinal uses, and extremely addictive properties. Alcohol is legal, with no real medicinal uses, and a high toxicity level… as in, it can kill people. For marijuana to kill you, you have to smoke more than your own weight's worth (a feat that has yet to be accomplished). Does this all sound bass ackwards to you, or is it just me?
Sorry for the essay guys, but I've had many events in my life that make me passionate about this sort of topic. I guess the main thing is that people will make bad decisions, but it doesn't necesarily mean they're bad people. It sucks watching good friends slide down that slippery slope. So don't just watch, help them back on their feet if you can.

Memberyea, I could see that. The PoP trilogy was my favorite on the PS2, I especially loved the second one, the change in attitude to match his situation, it was all great. So I was really excited for the next generation PoP, and was really dissapointed. It was still a good game and fun, but nowhere near what I expected or hoped for. Heres hoping that the sequel has the character maturing in a fashion that will provide better dialogue and story.

MemberI've done this before. I started smoking when I was 13. I tried to quit about 8 times before I finally did my freshman year in college (18yrs old). The only way I could do it was to get a friend to take my cigs from me any time I lit up, and luckily he lived 2 doors down from me in the dorms, and was bigger than me, so it would have been stupid to hit him. I still wish I had never started, I still feel pain in my chest randomly from time to time. It was amazing the stuff I hocked up after that. Well, amazingly gross. Anyway, good for you for being smart. It doesn't do anything for you and realizing that is what made me want to quit. They just smell bad, taste bad, cost money, make you feel like shit, and I can't name one positive thing. However, in my defense, and others, teenagers always make dumb choices. I made a dumb choice, and so did they. You'll probably make different dumb choices, no offense intended. Unfortunately, this one in particular is an addictive dumb choice, and its one you can make 5 or more times a day, easy. A big problem with most people is that as soon as you tell them not to do something, they want to do it. Suddenly your “cool” for breaking the rules. This is not always the case (it can be, but use judgement!). Anyway the thing that really gets me is why are these things even legal? They contain one of the most addictive substances known to man, nicotine, which has absolutely no medical use, is not a food, and is a drug. Looking at US laws, it really doesn't make sense, until you realize that its because of taxes. Our government makes so much money on taxing these things, that it doesn't matter how many people die of horrible cancer, they still won't outlaw them. When you work in the cancer ward in a couple hospitals, and see cancer patients that still want to go out for a smoke, and then think about why this is legal… well, it really makes you sick. At least, it makes me sick. Kudos to you dude. The best thing you can do now is be a role model to your peers and talk to your friends about it if they partake. Seriously, it even sounds stupid to me as I type it, but its the only thing that works. No teenager wants to hear it from an authority figure or some stupid ad on tv, but when their peers stop accepting them, sometimes it has an effect, cause they realize “oh god, maybe I'm not cool!”. Sorry for the essay, but you asked!
