MemberHaven't posted in a while, been trying to desperately cut down my backlog before it swallows me whole. If you guys think 20 unfinished is bad, take a look at my completion. 103/215 games 100%.
But now I'm back to see the return of the Hardest and Sloppiest mothercuker around, a Scottish fight that went nowhere, and another kombatant! Awesome!! Nice to see a new member who is possibly not another spammer or troll. Welcome to No Man's Land, Ryan. The forums may be small but they're home to the coolest trophy collectors in the known universe.
So what could possibly tear me away from this golden site, you might ask? Virtual LEGO bricks! Decided to give LEGO Batman 2 a whirl after seeing TDKR the second or third time because I'd already 100%ed the Arkham games. I loved it. Everything in it was just so.. Fun. It goes beyond explanation, I played it expecting maybe an average kids game but it was awesome! Everything is so well designed and made for all age groups like, it was a welcomed experience after grinding 40,000 kills in Space Marine. After I got that plat, I thought to myself, “That was a great game and there are like 6 others just like it? Fcuk yes!” I bought Lego Pirates… Wasn't the same

I also got around to completing collectible mania, The Amazing Spider-Man. The 700 pages were so ridiculous because the open world is incredibly tiny so when you start going to each story mission, you'll probably find 8 “R1 to collect comic pages” on each street! Then they packed the indoor areas with another 200 collectibles, and again, you can't walk 4 centimetres without hearing another magazine glow noise
The game itself was pretty decent. It's a step in the right direction for the SM games, moving back to an open world. The combat was pretty good because it's basically Arkham City with web attacks, and the web swinging around NYC makes you really feel like Spider-Man, it was cool. Much better than the actual movie
And finally to answer the thread's primary question: What am I playing right now? I'm currently juggling six games… It's tough, I want to play them all. I've mostly been on Sleeping Dogs, which is GODDAMN AWESOME. Beat some of my records, Jenkem! I dares ya!
I also devoted 30 hours of my life to my Khajit Master Thief in Skyrim. Patches seem to have smoothed over the bugs but I guess I'll really see when my save hits 12 MB… I restarted my Off The Record trophy progress when I stupidly deleted my level 50 Frank
My partner said just start a new one, since you'll be getting all the XP back anyway and I overwrote it. That wouldn't be so bad if he didn't say that a majority of the trophies would be easier alone

Me and 1773 cleared all Resistance 2 mission intel (but he still has to grind another 13 levels, poor bastard) but not before a Titan merged with the scenery! It was glorious!! I threw five grenades at it and it rocketed into a damn cooling tower! Then we waited ten minutes as Patrick hammered away at it's gigantic health bar with the weakest gun in the game, the only gun that could do any damage to him whatsoever. Reason being it's the only one that can shoot through walls!! I laughed so hard at one point that my stomach hurt. You can't stop the Coalition!!!!

MemberAlmost my entire day was devoted to Batman. First thing I did was drive to the closest IMAX theater and I saw TDKR for the third time. I HAD to see it in IMAX before I never get a chance too, after all… Definitely the best movie I've seen this year. When I got back I played Lego Batman 2 for a few hours then I took a break. Later that night I watched Under the Red Hood, which was phenomenal!! Red Hood's basically Batman but with a different ethical code, killing be an option, also wanting to become the ruler of Gotham's crime syndicates. His arsenal matches the Caped Crusaders and so does his fighting ability. He's got world class sniping skills and one-liners to boot, a totally badass villain. The action was amazing and I hope Red Hood makes an appearance in the next “Arkham” game, he's always 2 steps ahead of everyone. I'll never forget the final confrontation when all 3 characters stories collided… In short, Batman's the fcuking greatest and I'll definitely be starting DCUO soon just to serve under the Dark Knight!

MemberDoes it really matter if I still did it, though? The guide basically said “Got mad. Good luck.” That's not helpful in any shape or form. I had to come up with my own way to beat Little Shao Spam and his 3 companions by myself, and I did figure it out for every other challenge up to that point, so really nothing to laugh at. I never proclaimed I was the greatest, hell, I can't do those 34% damage combos I've seen people do, I was proud that I did accomplish the 3 towers and I posted it. Didn't want an argument…. I seriously underestimated the 40k kill grind and I failed to finish first. After you do everything in the game, you'll still be left with approximately 28k left. I spent the entire later half of today grinding it out with a friend on Exterminatus. No trophy still 🙁 It's ridiculous they put that trophy in there, 20 hours after everything's accomplished, with the fastest way being awfully boring for a stupid joke. 40k kills in 40k, hilarious…

Member@ Doc-B
At 149, I was like “this game is not worth my sanity” so I tried to find any durrrrty tricks for it but the poor bastard guidemaker couldn't be bothered to actually finish it! So I had to go it alone
Not fun fighting a tiny Shao Kahn with a speed and strength boost but I did manage. And all the R&Cs came out on the PS2. I personally can't wait to replay them since they were probably the games I played most as a kid, especially 3. The “Future” series was the reason I wanted a PS3!
Anyway I entered a plat contest on PSNProfiles on the last week you can join. You have to have the most rare plats for July and if I finish the gigantic 40k kill grind in Space Marine I should have won it. I'd hate to be the poor fools who spent an entire month on it just to get smoked by some guy who just joined out of nowhere…

MemberI was going to write a post doing some sort of theories to 1773's points but it'd literally look like I was grasping at straws and I stopped and deleted it all when I laughed at how ridiculous my theory for the missing guns and armor was. It's not our job to do the guessing here. It's the movies to explain it to us. While I think some parts such as the plane breach and police charge were far fetched, I kept in mind it was for the sake of the movie. Crazy shit like that probably happens in the comics so it's not too much of a bother as well. I won't deny I was genuinely hyped at these parts despite the utter stupidity.
The mayor is definitely dead. For a small second you saw the box he was in blow up in the stadium. Bane is also dead. He was killed by the blast from the bike. I agree that the last fight could've definitely been longer. Look at the prequel Star Wars films. If there's a single thing they did right, it's the end fight scenes. It's literally them slashing at each other across a gigantic area for at least five minutes until somebody dies or gets injured. It shouldn't be smack, smack, climb up stairs, punch punch punch, kick through door, end. To top it off with the bike shot… Pretty anticlimactic.
On the occupation: In an occupation, you're being fed rumors basically. Noone knew when the bomb was going to go off. For example, that one team that met up with Fox said that they thought the bomb would detonate in a couple days but Fox corrected him, stating it'd go off in 23 hours. Another thing, everyone's probably way too scared to face them. For god's sake, they hung the team on top of the bridge for everyone to see. That'd scare off the ordinary guy, I think… Let's say if you even knew what was going on, it'd be a rumor. “A ragtag group of police are going to lead an assault on Bane by charging into tank and enemy fire.” Does that sound successful to you? I'd be with you on taking the chance of taking the city but I'm not sure if everyone would be so courageous especially when there's a madman with a bomb detonator in his hand…
The only two things that bothered me were when Gordon lit up a flare and the Bat symbol was burnt into the building. Like what the fcuk? You had the time to set that up while your city's in danger?
And the other being how Catwoman suddenly knew how to drive the bike and use the feature that spins the wheels around sideways…
All in all, I really enjoyed the movie. I saw it twice, even
I think the Dark Knight might be slightly better but I just really don't like to compare the movies when they're in a trilogy. I loved all of them and I'd rate TDKR a respectible 8.75/10. It was all out action and in my opinion, the little things didn't detract from my experience. Bane is super badass and maybe one day we'll get another Batman movie with Blake. They don't need Bruce, they just need to know Batman saved them
All characters were great, taking away Chris O Donell ice skating and whatnot…
Not much else comes to mind at the moment. I'm shocked to see some of you weren't as pleased as I was…
Edit: What was your guys' interpretation of the pitt? To me, it was Bruce Wayne's life. He fell (his parent's death) and only when he mustered all of his strength and spirit he overcame it. He climbed until he discovered the bats (Batman) and that contributed to him making the jump (Bane, his greatest foe) Eventually he made it outside to freedom (his life beyond the suit). I may be overthinking it, he could just be fcuking climbing, but I think that's exactly what the pitt meant.

Relax man, take this time to play through the older games again and get yourself in the MGS zone

I'm thinking of doing it myself (I only ever played the first one before MGS4) and I'll probably do the same for Resident Evil 6 (Only ever played RE5).
That's exactly what I'm about to do. I only played through MGS4 once and that's my only experience with the series. You and I both own a Vita, too, and with the “transfarrable” feature I was reading about you can take your platinumed PS3 MGS2 & 3 saves and supposedly port them onto the Vita version. Getting 4 plats for the work of 2… And essentially putting down $35 USD on 2 plats

MemberIn short, I keep my eye out for the good ones. Limbo, Payday, TWD, Flower, etc.. The tough thing is knowing when it's actually quality. So often I've played a DLC game that on paper should be magic but it just isn't fun. There are so many PSN games I've played and the fun lasts 10 minutes. The good games I mentioned if I bought on a disc, I wouldn't have minded. So often I think the developers are like, “Oh it's downloadable and halfway decent. People won't mind it's short of potential because it's a DLC game.” If I'm to buy a PSN game, it better be of the same quality as a disc or I won't bother. There are some benefits like what scotty summed up, but they're not for a person like me. I have the time and the money. What's stopping me from buying a full price disc then? Nothing. If you have a creative idea, I'll support it. A high quality shooter (or insert genre here) with a lot of content that beats most disc shooters, I'll support it.
I think the quality has definitely risen. Look at PAIN and Fat Princess. A couple years ago, those were the PSN must haves. I don't ever hesitate a purchase due to a lack of a plat. After all, I don't settle for plats, I go for 100%s

MemberI saw TDKR Sunday and while I don't agree with 1773, I don't disagree if that makes sense. I don't want to compare them really. I thought all 3 were fantastic and by far, the best superhero movies to date. I thought TDKR was a blast and I think what probably made me “love” it was that I thought the fight scenes at the end in the snow were just.. breathtaking. Some people say that Joker was better I think Bane did a pretty good job, no? Not outdone, but certainly pretty close and the line “When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die” is just badassery in it's purest form. Going to see it again tomorrow with a different friend

MemberHate to double post on this as if it were Twitter or something but I'm feeling on top of the world right now. I just singlehandedly took down all 750 total Mortal Kombat 9 challenges. The last, Bonus Challenge Tower was absolutely batshit nuts and probably the hardest videogame accomplishment under my belt IMO. The plat definitely feels possible now. Soon I'll be joining the 11 MKV elite who got it almost 3 months after release!
Here's a link to a guide I tried using for Bonus Challenge #149. Take a quick glance at the last 20 challenges. He actually rage quit on the penultimate challenge!

MemberWorking on Space Marine and Mortal Kombat Vita. Space Marine's decent but the trophy list is a total grind. It probably tripled the amount of time I would've spent on it without the trophy list. The “Horde mode” DLC is balls… I'm on Bonus Challenge 138/150 in MKV. A friend recently pushed me to beating 130, which is hard as shit. Hitting Kahn 60 times in 60 seconds in a small space as Kung Lao. Probably the hardest thing in Mortal Kombat I've done thus far.

MemberSince I last posted on this thread I earned 4 plats.
#73 Portal 2
Been mentioned so many times, I won't go into any detail. Charming game, like to see a sequel.
#74 Kane and Lynch 2
What a fcuking disaster this game was. After I got the 100%, it was the 3rd disc I've ever destroyed. There's not a single thing done right in this game. The singleplayer is frustrating, abrupt, and pointless. It also gets incredibly repetitive, which is sad because the game is 2 and a half hours long. Oh, what a piece of shit Extreme mode was. Coop is too laggy for Extreme so you have to die over and over by yourself, and in one chapter looking at butt naked dudes!!
The online competitive multiplayer is actually shockingly worse. The servers are a total mess; Several times while trying to boost my group and I were disconnected for no apparent reason. Try to do it legit and you'll be paired up with the worst group of scumbag diehard fans in the universe. The online relies on the idea of betrayal and greed, but at that point in this game's life, everyone knows how to betray you and get away slick. If you ever hear anyone on the mic, I'm convinced that 99% of the community are black. Some will hold up the lobby and play music for you, though
(No joke, I was stuck there as he was the only host and he played his shitty music for half an hour before I quit) and some will curse at you hilariously
Don't even get me started on the nauseating camera and when you get shot up the blood takes up the whole screen…#75 Just Cause
A really great game that has tons to do. I started this 2 years back and made small progress at it every month or so. Good fun
104 vehicles, though..
#76 Hunted: The Demon's Forge
I've played worse (K&L2) but this game was incredibly stupid. There are so many missed opportunities in it. For several conversations, the characters talk about killing an ogre and becoming legends. When said ogre arrives, they were literally like “Don't attack it even though it looks like fun”
The gold doesn't do anything but unlock level kits for the user generated grinding arenas (for getting more gold, it seems
) Story is forgettable, characters are unlikable, and even though it has demon's in the title, they were never the focus at all. They show up at the last chapter as a mini boss with no dialogue or any point to them being there
Game's also buggy as hell. I fell through the floor a couple times and that requires a total restart of the chapter section. The game did get some laughs from me and my coop partner but for all the wrong reasons. The final boss drowned himself in a pool of golden liquid and emerged ten times larger and screamed “PISS OF THE GODS”!!! Priceless…Edit: I forgot to mention in Hunted our crytals were glitched, meaning we had to pick them all up again in a second playthrough. I love situations like that…
gr8jrfan
MemberI actually completely forgot about that in Episode 2. I remembered he beat Kano to a pulp, causing the new laser eye where Jax smashed his skull. That was a lame way to give him the arms…. By the way, love what you've done with the site, admin!
gr8jrfan
MemberErmac!! Hope he's as badass as he was in the game and I hope he rips off Jax's arms!
I loved the first season except for episodes 4 and 5… They really felt like a misstep but no more of that sh!t! Just straight up Mortal Kombat
gr8jrfan
MemberWell I'll be damned! I must've just said that it'll never happen a week ago! This is so awesome, I didn't play the game after I beat it. Can't wait to revisit and I hope the trophies are hard as shit! Big Boss Rank here we come! 🙂

I still need WarHammer boosted. We could help each other out if you'd want.
I just really don't have the motivation to do anything singleplayer anymore. The last thing I did alone was the Walking Dead and I thoroughly enjoyed that, but I think one thing that really contributed to that was there was absolutely no trophies to worry about. Recently, (I don't know what the fcuk I was thinking on this one but) I booted up the Amazing Spiderman videogame. I played about an hour into it and then I couldn't bring myself to play it since. Not because it's a bad game (shockingly) but because when I skimmed the trophy list afterwords, I realised there was 700 collectables. Either way, I'm having fun playing with some of you from this site. The Resistance 2 is going much better when it's not just 2 people taking on the hundreds of Chimera they pack into each level. Lara Croft would've been unbearably slow alone and scotty decided to “help” me by buying Kane and Lynch 2 dirt cheap, and that game is just a total fcuking turd. We were going to play one of the Multiplayer modes, Cops n Robbers, when we were immediately matched up with each other. Then we sat there for a good 20+ minutes when we made the realisation that we were the only two people playing that mode in the world.
Think I'll post my decisions and motives in the TWD thread. I'd really like to see Doc's “plan”…
