MemberNew graphics card is still inbound so I borrowed Gnilsia's for the time being.
I'm finishing off the SP in MW3 at the moment and I'll be launching into the spec ops with gr8jrfan soon.
I picked up Twisted Metal but I've only dabbled with it so far.
Myself and Mojo have been putting solid time into Dead Island and while I'd imagine the game to be unplayable over PSN, we've been doing okay over LAN. Although somehow we still don't get full ping…
Mojo and a couple of mates are over tonight and we'll be battering through some Red River but until then I will be wasting quite a large part of my day on The Impossible Game. This trophy-less mini is completely making me it's bitch and I'm still stuck on level one, but I'm determined to beat it without using practice flags!!

MemberHey lads, just thought I'd pop on to wish you all a Happy New Year. Sorry I've been so quiet lately but my computer is completely borked and won't even switch on, I'm using a friend's laptop at the moment.
I'm hoping to get it fixed over the next week or two and once things are up and running I'll be back posting regularely again. I'm disappointed I couldn't really take part in the competition but the idea was a great one and if Jenkem starts another at some stage I'd give it a go.
Anyways, hopefully you'll hear frm me sooner rather than later, and apologies for posting off-topic but I didn't want to clutter up the place with a pointless “Hey guys” thread.

MemberFinished the campaign in BF3 and mopped up all but one of the SP trophies. I have to unlock two more weapons in co-op and then it's on to the MP until plat.

I'd say the high price reflects demand. Everybody and their granny's cat is playing Skyrim so the guide is probably like gold-dust.
The highest priced guide I had to hunt down was the God of War collection. New copies were going for nearly €100 at one stage. I ended up getting a used one from the states for €20.

I can't imagine I'm sitting on any real gems as most of them were pretty popular. I didn't ever really pick up any niche games or obscure Jap RPGs.
Without going too far off topic, the real rarities I have are in vinyl. I have quite a few really limited pressings where only 200 or 300 were released. It's all extreme metal but after a few years the prices still rise. Most of them are splatter or picture vinyl as well. They're a shite to store properly though… Cardboard edges on sleeves are not a collector's best friend.

I forgot to ask, do you ever sell any of your stuff or do you just check the prices to keep on top of value?

You b*astard!! Serious jealousy going on in my corner, I love old, rare stuff!!

MemberI've taken a break (read: limped away in defeat) from Fallout: NV for a while and moved my attention to Battlefield 3. So far I've completed the co-op on hard (alongside the indefatigable Mojo), I'm half-way through the campaign on hard and dipped my toe in the online.
This game has been looming on my horizon for quite a while but I hadn't let myself build up too much expectation as while I'm a Bad Company fan, this technically isn't a sequal so it could have gone any direction.
So far it's mixed feelings but I'll wait until I have it finished before I make up my mind. Be warned that that may result in another essay length whinge…

Yeah the sheer amount of and unbelievable accuracy of the grenades was just obscene in w@w. Never bothered with BlackOps on vet. Maybe save that for a rainy day.
Just don't expect to get the whole day out of it, maybe a rainy three hours or so

Been playing through this on veteran and surprised how much easier this and MW2 are on vet compared to W@W.
There's been quite a few times when I've been able to advance through the level just by pushing forward using cover and not having to fire a single shot!!
I've yet to start MW3 but I found Veteran on MW2 and Black Ops to be a lot easier than I was expecting. From what I hear about W@W, it was the “Grenade Rain” that made it a balls.

Picked up Brink for £7.99 so giving that a try. Not expecting much from it but at that price thought it was worth a punt!
It's good fun on co-op but not nearly interesting enough to make you want to play competitively.

MemberI'm glad I read all these new posts. When I was away from here I missed these cutting edge, informed discussions on the merits of various games…

MemberSo Fallout has decided it no longer wants to load The Atomic Wrangler. This is super awesome as I've been using the bedroom there to store all of my items. Bye bye 4/5 of my weaponry and food items…

MemberHey lads, sorry I haven't been on in ages, my computer has serious gremlins and is crashing every time I blink.
I'm still dragging myself through Fallout: New Vegas. The game has long since ceased being enjoyable but I've already let it consume 100 hours of my life so I'll be damned if I don't plat it.
I've been doing the DLC for the last few days and I've finished three of them and just started into 'Old World Blues'. So far 'Honest Hearts' has been the only decent one and 'Dead Money' is just pathetic. 'OWB' might get interesting but so far I've only had the pleasure of sitting through the longest conversation in the game (By fcuking miles!!) before being sent on a glorified treasure hunt.

MemberMy net got bored with being consistent and has started dropping my connection every few minutes so I've had to stick with Fallout: NV for the time being. I just finished the NCR ending and I'm playing through the Independant one at the moment.
The game is really starting to piss me off though. The amount of areas just cripples with lag is ridiculous. I keep having to load saves or re-start the game to play certain sections. And too many missions have me running middle man between two people having a conversation. It's always going to be a feature of RPGs but there's been periods where I've gone an hour or two without firing a shot.
I wanted to play right through for the plat/100% but I can see myself leaving it and coming back to it after playing a few other things.
