I'm not sure if I could pick one title that blew me away. Apart from the fact that most of the games I've been playing were hanging around from last year, nothing from this year really stands out. I think Motorstorm: Apocalypse might get it simply for the vast improvements with the online.

So with Modnation and Motorstorm put to bed I'm switching to AC: Brotherhood and Crysis 2 for the online. I've been eyeing these up for about six months so it's about fcuking time!

But I tried to get a few games of C2 in earlier and I couldn't get a single match. I tried joining each team mode (including the DLC maps) and each time I got put into a room on my own and only once did a single guy join into the lobby and he left afer two minutes! Does Crysis die after midnight in Europe or has everyone piled into a single game-mode that I somehow missed? Or is the online dead alltogether?

It's still going okay. But once you hit evening then if you don't speak French you're not gonna get too much out of anyone.

There's quite a few low ranks still knocking around so people are still buying it.

At long bloody last!! The Modnation Racers plat is mine!!

Difficulty 8/10

I'm giving this a high difficulty simply because of the sheer amount of game-time needed to get the damn thing. The 'Modnation Superstar' trophy is for getting to rank 30 and that requires 500,000XP, 250,000 of which needs to be create XP for the 'Star Creator' trophy.

Apart from those two life-suckers there's nothing too difficult. The 'Flaming Hot' trophy for getting in the top 10% of the Hot Lap is actually a lot more doable than I thought it would be. I got it on the first track I tried for and it only took a half dozen tries.

Had a pretty frustrating day on the gaming front. I had Mojo and his mate D4RK ONION over and as D4 is a bit of a whizz at fighting games we threw on Blazblue CT and tried for the 'Leonidas' trophy (beat Score Attack mode). Easily one of the hardest trophies I've come across.

To make it slightly doable we were using the 2 controller method. So when D4 was about to lose Mojo would press start, come in as a new challanger, and lose so we could get back to the main fight. We got as far as Unlimited V-13 (the second last and hardest by miles character) and D4 was getting the hang of the bitch when Mojo got a bit carried away and instead of jumping in and losing, he fcuking won and re-set the whole poxing thing!

As for myself; the Modnation grind is now over 400,000XP but making me want to bash out my grey matter and as I don't want to start something new until I'm done with it, I've gone back to the Castlevania DLC. I finally beat that poxy bladetrap and finished the first chapter on Paladin. I just have one Frankenstein Finger to find and two of the trials. Then onto the second DLC.

It's painful man. I'm just entering the Modspot and asking “Download for Download?” It was going grand until I got ambushed by the French. And some shitbag let me download all his stuff and didn't do a single one of mine!

So with Motorstorm having been kicked in the bollocks I'm now concentrating on Modnation. Up to 393,000XP now. Just under 80,000 this week and still not even into the weekend!

Finally grabbed the Motorstorm: Apocalypse plat last night.

Difficulty 5/10

Easily the easiest offering from Evolution Studios. The SP is beatable in a day with less than a third of the races in Pacific Rift. And you only need to come third! Against weak-sauce opponents!

The MP is an equally doable (but thankfully far more enjoyable) affair. The only trophy that might cause trouble is 'Double or Quits' for winning a bet on a 2X hot streak. It's basically a case of betting on the lowest rank every time or boosting it in a private match.

The longest trophy is 'Jackpot' for reaching rank 40, but the new weekly and downloadable events halve the time with the massive amount of chips (XP) they dish out.

For a pre-trophy game? What a rip-off. The original is better anyway and if you're going for 100% then it'll take you weeks. And many, many re-spawns…

I had the exact same reaction when I put on From Mars to Sirius for the first time. They were one of those bands that I read reviews about and interviews with but never actually got around to picking up an album.

Only last night I was shaking the place with The Way of All Flesh.

Spent today grinding away at Motorstorm and Modnation. Up to level 37 in the former and about 350,000XP in the latter.

Getting a little pissed off at Motorstorm though. The online seems to have died away allready, I'm getting games with a max of seven people and usually less than four. And the number of disconnects and disqualifications means I'm racking up races that earn me nothing points-wise. I don't know if there's ongoing server issues or people just aren't bothering.
