MemberHe's actually finished with that profile and spends most of his time as ObsidianHellkite. He'll have caught up to himself in no time

It's an old thread but it came up recently so it got bumped. I skipped over it the first time too.

MemberMost members here are on each others' PSN friends list so we all generally know how everyone else is getting on. There was a thread about trophy amounts that had a few cards displayed but the things always seem to be pretty buggy so no-one really bothers.

MemberI think it depends entirely on which platform you prefer. I started out with achievements on the Xbox 360 and put in quite a bit of effort in finishing some games and getting the 1000g.
But I still switched over to PS3 when it was released (even though it didn't have trophies on launch). I prefered the console and when trophies were finally launched I set about getting as many of them as possible, just as I had with the 360.
And there are just as many “trophy whores” as there are “achievement whores”. I think the only difference is that on the 360 the emphasis is on your overall score while on the PS3 it's more about the amount of platinum trophies you have. A lot of PS3 gamers pride themselves on game completion and their plat total can be checked at the touch of a button.

MemberWell lads, you've successfuly sparked my interest in this. What am I looking at length-wise? As in how long long is an average playthrough? And if the difficulty trophies aren't stackable, how many playthroughs are needed?
And are there any missable trophies I'd need to keep an eye out for?

MemberJust finished my first playthrough in Red Faction Armageddon. I still miss the free-roaming of the last title but taking the game on it's own merits, it's still pretty damn good.
If I was to try and throw a negative at it, the only thing that springs to mind is the pacing of the weapons. They try to offer an arsenal similar to the last one in scope but jam it into a much shorter game. The end result being you ignore most of them. I know I used less than a third of what was in my inventory.
Apart from that minor issue, I loved it and can't wait to properly try infestation mode.

MemberUnusual to hear about the slim getting messed up. That I would attribute to software corruption because, in terms of hardware, it's pretty reliable. Mojo has the old fatboy 40GB model so his was just waiting for nails in the coffin anyway. He hasn't had issues with games not playing, just his fan sounding like an angle grinder.

MemberThe endurance races in GT5 have done the same to Mojo's console, is yours one of the older fatboy models or a slim?

MemberAfter a few rounds we found that if you lead George through the ice-water when he's going ape-shit then it calms him down.

MemberAs I've said elsewhere, Brink and Black Ops Zombies have been eating up my time but I'm also nearly finished with Magic: 2012. Just the archenemy trophies to grab. Still trying to hunt down the 'Spellslinger' trophy from the previous game as well.

MemberBit of a milestone there man, the post that took a thread past the 100 pages mark!
'Ratamahatta' from the album Roots by Sepultura.
All good albums start with solid drums as a foundation and the tribal stuff on this track is beast!

MemberSure thing man. It might take a while because none of my sub accounts were activated and all need their poxy passwords changed by e-mail but I will do it.
