So since posting in this thread last I've managed to net both the Tekken 6 and Ratchet and Clank plats, with those consigned to the “pwned” pile I've started into the new Red Faction. I wasn't too sure about it at first, the over-the-shoulder camera and tight areas were paying a little too much homage to Gears for my liking. And I do miss the vehicles, I know some people found all the driving in the last one tedious but I enjoyed it. 

But any misgivings evaporated with the discovery of the magnet gun! It is just retarded fun to mess about with. Watching enemies smash through a building into a pile of exploding barrels will never get old! 

Apart from that I'm now getting to grips with Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. I was afraid it was just going to be an over-priced update to the last game but they've actually done quite a bit with it.

Crysis 2 is beast. I've yet to try the online but I loved the SP. Motorstorm is the complete opposite, the SP is terrible but the online is a huge improvement on the previous titles. 

I've yet to watch the Sony Press Conference so my E3 is just limited to the individual game vids being released on the US and EU stores. But that's generally how I approach E3 every year, I never bother checking out the competition.

For me, E3 2011 is a bit of a mixed bag. I won't say I was disappointed by anything (far from it) but, in terms of games, there was nothing that blew me away either. There's a tonne of games that I'm looking forward to but in almost every case I knew about them beforehand. Call me a romantic but I miss the novelty of earth-shattering announcments! Most of the big titles this year (MW3, Uncharted 3, AC: Revelations etc.) were always going to happen so there wasn't even an attempt to give them a big unveiling. We've already been getting previews for months! 

The thing that actually really caught my attention this year was the PSVita. I'm always dubious about new features (motion sensors, cameras, touch pads etc.) as they tend to have (SHITE!) games made for them instead of good games worked around them but after the tech demos I saw I am now properly excited. The whole “augmented reality” stuff looks awesome! 

Like yourself Ninja, I never gave too much time to my PSP. It was just there to play the odd title I wanted and never rewally invested in. But the PSVita is bringing some cool offerings to the table and with trophy support and a nice price it's not something I'll be able to say no to.

As for MW3 vs Battlefield 3? I'm honestly looking forward to both but for different reasons. I've said before that I enjoyed MW2 (SP and Co-op) so I'm not too pushed if the next one is a rinse and repeat job. In fairness, if you put all three MW SP campaigns end-to-end you've still only got the length of one decent game so just look at it that way. I'm not expecting anything new so I can't see myself being disappointed. 

BF3 on the other hand looks like it's going to kick the bollocks off both Bad Companies put together. It seems like it's avoiding the COD style of story (so dramatic that even if it is entertaining it's fcuking ridiculous) and going for something far grittier. I watched the 'Faultline' trailer the day after watching 'The Hurt Locker' and, in terms of atmosphere, they felt like companion pieces. The BF series has always been my shooter of choice for online and, from what I've seen, that trend looks well set to continue. 

I think I'm going to make this my anthem!

I found the games on the American store all right but the European one is arseways.

I'm pretty sure they're PSP only. I downloaded a graphic novel before and it wouldn't play on the PS3.

Nice to know you're still breathing mate, we haven't seen you in a while. And thanks for the info on the disappearing icon, it happened to me and I didn't know what to make of it.

EDIT: Does anyone know what the story with the PSP games is?

I saw that during the week myself, I'm not sure if I'd rate it above the first but it's so rare that a comedy sequel is even on a par with the original that I was delighted with it anyway. 

This could actually be quite interesting. The RTS offerings on PS3 have been limp so far (Stormrise much?) so there's room for a properly done title to show what it can do. 

And any game with a map editor and custom soundtrack gets my vote!
