MemberThe COD VS Everything Else saga…
Everyone that has said this is gettong old is dead right. But it's been pretty quiet around here and at least this muck gets people talking (even if it's just fighting at least it means new posts!).
I, for one, am looking forward to MW3. I only came into the series on MW2 and I enjoyed that so getting the next one is a no-brainer. Apart from a few niggling design choices and the length, I found the SP to be pretty good. I think the MP is weak as Hell so I avoided it but I thought the co-op stuff was unbelievable. Anyone that's read my posts over my time here will know I'm a co-op fanatic and the Special OPs were brilliant fun. I'm hoping the mode makes a return in the next game.
Black Ops was a much poorer offering, I've already ranted about it (at length) elsewhere:
http://www.allps3trophies.com/forum/call-of-duty-black-ops/black-ops-aftermath
so I won't repeat myself here. But I will add that since posting that Ive spent time with the MP and confirmed that it was just as bad to play as to watch. No huge problems or glitches but things that I look for in MP just weren't there.
There are far superior MPs to be had but they'll be ignored in favour of this mush because COD does get bought by everyone. COD's biggest strength has always been the fact that you will always have guys on your friends list playing it and playing an average game with your mates is still more fun than playing a gaming masterpiece with strangers.
Not that BO was a total loss; Zombies turned out to be the time sink I'd hoped it would and I've had some awesome games with my mates. I even have one convinced that the only way to kill the Pentagon Thief before he gets your gear (for the trophy) is to hit him with the Bowie Knife!! He's the last one in our group that needs it and it's fcuking hilarious to play as far as the Thief round and watch him try melée the fcuker

Should any of you come across I773P73SSIBL3 online ask him how he's getting on

Arrived in the post yesterday and has been waging war on my ears since. Still getting my head around a few tracks but the above and 'Paragon Pariah' are standing out as early favourites.
Still no sign of a vinyl release but the last two albums had awesome splatter versions released so I'll be keeping an eye out.

MemberThis is the sort of shit that starts censorship campaigns. All it takes is one offended idiot and media that just can't wait to shock other idiots. Games are an easy target because they're still a past-time viewed by (most, not all) adults as, at best, a waste of time and, at worst, detrimental to their kids.
It's easy to attack something already held in a poor light.

MemberAgain, Doc's sentiments parallel my own.
Sony were hacked by an outside source, it wasn't their fault and I'm not going to lambaste them over being just as vulnerable as every other online service out there.
And I can appreciate how much this cost them. The service might be free, so they didn't lose out on any fees, but re-building a network and hiring digital security companies can't be cheap.
Through the whole outage my one issue with Sony was their muck PR. Every bit of information we got, spent several days grinding though the rumour mill before Sony came out and (partially) confirmed it. I didn't expect them to instantly know what had happened their system and explain it to us, but it wouldn't have been too much effort to keep us up to date.
As for the welcome back package? Like Doc I felt that Sony used it to mollify us but were deliberately vague about what they were going to give so as to raise our expectations but not actually promise anything of worth. I didn't ask for the package but once it was tabled I did expect Sony to offer up something good that actually implied “our apologies for the outage and thank you for staying with us”.
I know that sounds unreasonable, but that is how companies do business. People go with the brand/service that offers them the most free crap. In the bar I work when a customer drops their drink, I replace it. I don't have to; they dropped it and it was their own fault. But that small gesture keeps them coming back.
And I'm a little worried that now the service is fast approaching the 'full functionality' date, a few of the interesting features we were offered (Changable PSN ID, Cross game chat etc. ) seem to have been quietly forgotten about.

MemberHave to say I'm strongly agreeing with the Doc. That is a paltry looking list.
Anybody on PS+ already has LBP and Wipeout HD and probably picked up Dead Nation on discount.
Quest for Booty is worth a bash but without trophy support it's not going to warrant too much time.
And I think everybody and their granny's cat bought inFamous when it was released.
I was hoping for something new, only one of those games was released in the last two years. Something isn't really a 'freebie' when they've already made their money from it.
It was the core gamers that were hit most by the outage, and they buy what they want on release. A clutch of bargain basket titles is poor recompense. I have all five games so this doesn't benefit me at all.

Not to be “that guy”, but did anonymous ever say there gonna leave sony alone, who says there not gonna crack sonys “improved” security a month or two down the road?
Anon are pretty much at war with each other now. From what I can gather a lot of IP addresses have been handed over to the authorities so quite a few people are going to be too busy getting their asses sued to find the time to hack anything.

“The password can only be changed on the console in which the Psn account was first activated, or through an authenticated email.”
Great… So i wonder how long after everyone else is online Sony will wait to send out these e-mails?? I've had several Ps3's, some I've deactivated and a couple i haven't, i hope this doesn't turn out to be another 'P!ss about'!!——-
So 5pm has come and gone
But Sony PSN Ireland tweeted, or whatever, earlier today that PSN would be restored by Sunday… So i guess it's just a waiting game now… And it seems from what i read that I'll need the e-mail to change my password…
That's going to be my problem as well. My main account was on my first 60GB model. I'm now on my fourth…

MemberGreat performance from the Toons today getting them a well earned point. The back four were solid and made a mockery of Torres.

MemberWhy are we second? They keep warbling on about SCEE being the biggest market yet we always come after SCEA. At least it's definitely on the way.

I think I might try for the same in Savage Moon. I have the original game finished but I never got around to the Waldgeist trophies.

LOL, fail thread, the update wont do anything until sony actually reactivates PSN wich should be soon, but for now PSN is still down
Why make us wait? Surely it would have made sense to activate it before the update?

I'd been meaning to get into these guys for years but only got around to ordering a couple of their albums recently. Crushing stuff.

MemberFinally finished both Adventure mode and Puzzle mode in Critter Crunch. Hardcore gaming FTW!!
@KOG
That game has been gathering dust on my shelf since it's release. I absolutely loved Fallout 3 but all the glitches and problems I've heard about are really putting me off New Vegas.
