MemberSilent Hill 1-4 remastered. Please!!!! It'll do as an apology for not bothering to put trophies in Homecoming. Or for making Homecoming in the first place!!

MemberWell I've had this for a few hours now and I have to say I'm impressed. Shite at it, but impressed.
I'm actually a little intimidated by just how much there is in the game. You could spend nearly an hour just playing around in the menus! I'm loving the fact that even if I'm stuck on a particular event, there's loads of other stuff I can go off and try so I'm always progressing.
I haven't struggled too much yet as in any of the 'unrestricted' tracks I just use one of the cars that came with the Signature edition to blow everything else of the track. But I think the licenses are going to kick up the difficulty a few notches. I've only dabbled in the first one and it did not go smoothly.
The game must be a dream for petrol-heads as I know nothing about cars but even I'm getting a kick out of the maintenance and tuning. The depth of the options is awesome!
I don't want to get too comfortable yet as I only have the controller and I want to wait for the steering wheel before I really invest some time in the game. Not that it's easy to put down.
One issue I have is that I can't hear my music during the race. Does anyone know where I can tweak the volume?

MemberI work with the public Tommy so everyday is a bad day.

I understand what your saying about COD's main selling point being the MP but when I'm being charged the same price as games that manage to have excellent MP and SP then I expect a well-rounded game. And especially from COD. Treyarch knew that they were going to make a fortune with this game. It was always going to out-sell anything else released this year. They could have afforded to put more time and investment into the SP.
But I honestly can't see anything that suggests they bothered trying to push the series forward. They've stuck with the same formula as the last three games and I think that makes the faults even more unforgivable. I finished the campaign on Veteran last night and right down to the very end the same issues with AI and weaponry were bothering me.
And graphically the game has no excuses as other titles have managed to look far more polished without any issues with frame-rate. The last FPS I played through and enjoyed was Killzone 2 and that looked amazing, had no issues with my squad and the enemy being invisible to each other, and the guns felt like I was carrying Howitzers. (And I played both games on the same TV)

MemberIt is a tad on the negative side all right. But I think that's just because I was expecting a lot more from the game. It was set to be the biggest selling game ever and with the phenomenal hype leading up to it I just think it should have done a Hell of a lot more. It disappointed me in exactly the same way MOH did. I just think that with games like Borderland and Fallout showing us just how expansive an FPS can be (granted they had no MP to worry about) that it's a shame when they don't push the boundaries and try something new.

MemberI love this game myself but it makes me feel like a bitch!
I never really put much effort into the trophies outside the main arcade game but I dabbled enough to feel intimidated…
The 10X multiplier took me ages to get. I kept screwing up at 8X or 9X. And what really wrecked my head was when I was showing Gnilsia the game after he downloaded it I got it first go without even trying! On his poxing profile!!!

MemberI just happened to pick up the tape while I was doing the diamonds so I still have to go back to an old file to find all the tapes.

MemberI just haven't tried getting it yet. I haven't read anything about the glitch but I did notice some of my tapes having the same recording. Do you know if that's anything to do with it?

MemberI was reading your list and I completely missed the “as for worst” line and just read the whole lot together. I saw Bieber and started to worry!

Member'Doggamn' from the album Smiling Dogs by Man's Gin.
This isn't even slightly a metal album but it's the best thing I've heard in 2010. Definitely my album of the year. No real surprise as Erik Wunder, the founder, is also one half of (the extremely metal) Cobalt, who's album Gin was my album of 2009.

at the end when it shows JFK's procession and shows you in the crowd,i think its pretty obvious what that means…….
I think so too. I think the “tried?” remark is suggesting that the broadcast is still affecting Mason and that he's still programmed to take Kennedy out. There's a reference to Oswald in there somewhere as well.

MemberI'd say people have been avoiding making a thread because every time we get our hopes up the poxy release date gets bumped. I can't believe we've actually managed to get within a week of a date without it going arse-up.
I'm getting the game anyway. It just looks unreal. I knew the game was going to be massive but the trophy list has made me think it's going to be bigger again. I'm not a petrol-head myself and I come from the Motorstorm school of driving so I'm hoping I won't find it too technical. I want depth, not impenetrable murk.
Gnilsia picked up the steering wheel for GT Prologue and he swears by it so I'm thinking of grabbing one myself. I've tried his and there's no doubt it adds to the experience.

MemberThere's a discussion about Canadian music going on and no-one's mentioned Strapping Young Lad or The Devin Townsend Band?!
Shame on ye all lads.

MemberI found the movement a little strange at first but I got used to it pretty quickly. I love the game. It looks gorgeous, is well written, and has characters that you instantly care about.
I'd definitely recommend it.

LOL! Brilliant.
It sucks when you pay however much for the tickets and the transport, and then the gig is shit.
The gig wasn't a total loss. One of the support bands were The Ocean. I'd never heard of them but they were awesome. I totally forgot to ever look up any of their stuff but recently I came across an article about them telling how they'd been on tour in Europe and were stopped by fake police and had €6000 of merch money stolen. That is enough to kill a small band like them so they were giving the option of donating an extra fiver whenever you buy their new album from their website.
So I thought why not? I'll finally pick up some music by a great band and contribute to getting them back on the road. My fiver also gets me a copy of the police report and a thank you card signed by the whole band!

MemberBest gig I ever went to was a DVD recording for Primordial (I have a copy; you see my face once and my hand twice.
). It was a small venue, I was right up the front and the band were unreal. Their vocalist has one of the most commanding presences I've ever seen on a stage. He looks like he should be leading an army, not four hairy dudes with instruments. ]My worst gig was the second time I went to see Opeth. The crowd were shit. They seemed more interested in getting high than listening to the music and I had to spend most of my time avoiding the thrashing limbs of glassy-eyed vermin.
