if your router uses access controls, then don't need wep or wpa keys. you can controll exactly who uses the connection by allowing only certain devices from connection to your router.
set your ps3 to connect, once it starts, check your router's access control to see 1) if your access controll is activated, which would initially block all new connections. and 2) check to see if your ps3 is attempting to connect through the access control list, and choose to allow it.
attempt to connect your ps3 again, and it should now work.
this is just one reason as to why it might not be working, but there are numerous others.

ps3 freak – maybe because treyarch made it & not infinity ward? i imagine they couldnt call it COD5 seeing as IF made COD4.
Miiiitch – ha im not complaining, merely baffled as to why so many people refuse to call it COD6 when you can guarantee ANY proper COD fan will refer to it as COD6.. i wouldn’t mind playing some of you on COD4 seeing as you all appear to be so adamant about this. i find it hard to believe someone can collect many trophys whilst finding time to improve their skills online on COD4. it is 1 or the other, otherwise i can say from experience they would be poor.
