Get both, but if you're only going to get one I suggest getting the first one so you atleast can understand the story. Also Bioshock 2 isn't released until next year.
If you by memory mean harddrive it's very simple, just buy a 2.5″ sata HDD of your choosing and refer to either the ps3 manual or one of the many guides that are available on the web on how to swap drives. There's even youtube vids who walks you through it.
