MemberThanks for your insights, guys. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give this one a rental. Maybe I'll just hunt down that facehugger by itself in a year or two on eBay.

MemberI was personally quite disappointed with this game. Here's why…
The first quarter of the game is awesome. I kid you not. The art design is spectacular. You kill cool baddies, swing along edges and see massive bosses lingering in the background that you'll have to challenge momentarily. It gives you a lot of hope for the game. The last three quarters are unfortunately not very stellar at all, though.
First off, the puzzles seem worthless and that they're only there for the sake of being there. They feel very out of place. For example, you're in a brutally grotesque level of Hell when all of a sudden, you're in a big white room with portals shooting out of sides. You have to turn levers to move the portals around so you can continue into the next stage which looks like Hell again. A little out of place? I think so. Really, stuff like this takes you completely out of the game. There's another stage later in the game which basically just has you doing specific tasks in a certain amount of time ten times over again. First part, kill these enemies in time limit. Second part, kill these enemies while they're in the air in time limit. Third part… well, you get the point.
Secondly, the deaths are cheap and I mean really cheap. Most of these cheap deaths are due to the fixed camera angles which become stuck at times. “Hey, look at that; it's a ledge! Let's jump to it! Oops… even though we were facing it, we've jumped into a boiling lake of lava instead! Whoopsies… let's try it again!” Get used to replaying lots of parts lots of times over again. Unless I was playing a warped copy of the game, this problem happens quite often.
Lastly, it is quite easy. Personally, I'm not a fan of overly hard games because I tend to have anger issues. However, this game isn't very challenging at all. I played through it on easy which was easier than easy usually is. So when I was done, I tried it on harder modes and guess what? Still quite easy. I seriously think the only challenge in this game is overcoming the incredibly horrid camera angles. If you like to play through games and enjoy the story on an easier mode, then welcome. If you like tougher challenges, though, look somewhere else. You're really not going to find it here.
So overall, is Dante's Inferno worth it? I'd say it's worth a rental. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying this title, though. Even the cool additions of the “Divine Edition” aren't enough to warrant a purchase. The game is a frusterating experience which happens to include cool character and location designs, a stellar soundtrack and lots and lots of boobies (even ones with tongues that spit out little demonic babies; no joke). Also, even though this game is constantly being compared to the God of War series (and trust me, it's very similar), I found the controls to be more loose and closer to the vine of the Devil May Cry series. Anyway, give it a shot and see what you think. I know everyones opinions differ.

MemberGlad to hear I'm not the only feeling the pain of the inferior PSN service in Canada. But yes… Canada FTW indeed, Parnakas. Canada FTW indeed.

MemberYeah, I'm happy for you guys for getting the SE, but I'm from Canada and we're ALWAYS shafted. For example, our PS Store still doesn't have digital comics or movies/television even though we're the U.S.'s neighbours. Kinda depressing.

MemberYeah, that was the first that I had read about it. However, I will be upset if the SE does come here after I buy the regular one.

MemberA 9.5 from PSXextreme! Great written review, too!
@ emdeepee
Yeah, I know about Metacritic, but as strange as it may seem, I like going to the actual gaming sites and reading the entire review before being nailed with the final score. With MC, you see the final score right off the bat and that kinda takes the interest and mystery out of the review. Like I said, I'm strange.
@ Doc-B
BOOOOO to Games Rader!!! That is all.

MemberAn 'A-' received from 1up.com! If anyone sees any other reviews, post them up here and let us know. I'm trying to read every one (unless there's spoilers, of course).

MemberThere's a review now up on PlayStation Lifestyle, as well. It received a 5/5. Check it out here:

MemberHeavy Rain review now up on the U.S.'s IGN Web site! They gave it a 9.0! Go check it out; it's completely spoiler-free!

MemberJust to let everyone know, today is the 10th of February. That means that today is the official day where Sony allows Web sites to start posting their reviews for Heavy Rain. Today is going to be a good day for reading!

MemberI share most of your thoughts. Multiplayer can be fun at times, but for the most part, I usually find it boring. I'd much rather have my brother or one of my friends over to play with me in the same room than play against some stranger half-way across the globe. I especially love the people who display vulgarity and rudeness towards you because they didn't want you in their game, or they don't think you're good enough. I can't even begin to tell you how many times this happens to me. Probably for every one out of three times I play online, I'll receive this experience. Sorry, but I have better things to do then be called “a worthless f*#ker” because I missed a shot.
If the game is based around multiplayer, then all the power to that game. But it shouldn't be shoved down people's throats by being placed in game that should've been a single-player game only. It seems like every single AAA title coming out now has multiplayer. This is why 'Heavy Rain' and 'God of War III' will be a breath of fresh air. I especially hate it when to receive a platinum in some games, you have to do a bunch of stuff in online multiplayer. This is stupid because not everyone has the best connection, plus, if you buy the game a year or two down the road, chances are, you won't be able to receive a platinum because there'll be no one to play against online in that game.
If I want to play on online game, I'll stick to my 'Battlefield 1943'. That is literally the only online multiplayer I've truly 100% loved (I was a huge fan of '1942' on the PC back in the day). Chances are, if you want to play against me, that's the only place you'll me online. The rest of the time, I'll be playing a single player game because my favorite thing about video games has always been the storyline of the game. I can't receive that online.

MemberI can believe I forgot Buzz! Oh, and sorry about forgetting Sly's pals, too. I never added Spyro or Crash to the mix because they're no longer owned by Sony… but hey, if Sony could get them, the more the merrier!

when you buy a game or dlc from an alternative region(EU) compared to your main one(CAN), you will be able to play the games on both accounts but you will not be able to gain any trophies when connected to the Canadian PSN.
When i play a game over in Ireland and it gets a trophy patch or registers a trophy won, it comes from PSN EU. When you get a trophy patch you connect to the Canadian/US PSN. As there is no trophies available in your region it would not be possible to access the trophies on that PSN server as the trophies are not there. That is my opinion anyway, i cannot see how they would do it any differently tbh.
I would be willing to buy you a PSN card in exchange for monies paid into my Paypal account but it would have to be euro's as i live in Ireland.
Thanks for that. I think that I've actually decided that importing and everything would be too big of a hassle, so I don't think I'll go through with it anymore. Thanks again, though. Much obliged!

MemberThis looks freakin' cool. Now that I've seen that all these developers can come together to do something like this, maybe we're a little closer to a Sony fighting game. Oh, you KNOW it'd be sweet! Just think of all the fighters you could have…
Kratos (God of War)
Ares (God of War)
Athena (God of War)
Zeus (God of War II)
Nathan Drake (Uncharted)
Elena Fisher (Uncharted)
Chloe (Uncharted 2)
Sully (Uncharted)
Jak (Jak & Daxter)
Daxter (Jak & Daxter)
Sev (Killzone)
Helghast Soldier (Killzone)
Nathan Hale (Resistance)
Chimera (Resistance)
Ratchet (Ratchet & Clank)
Clank (Ratchet & Clank)
Captain Qwark (Ratchet & Clank)
Cole (inFamous)
Sly Cooper (Sly Cooper…)
Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet)
Norman Jayden (Heavy Rain)
Wander (Shadow of the Colossus)
Ico (ICO)
Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal)
Gabe Logan (Syphon Filter)
Lian Xing (Syphon Filter)
Sir Daniel Fortesque (MediEvil)
Toan (Dark Cloud)
Max (Dark Cloud 2)
Monica (Dark Cloud 2)
Jennifer Tate (Primal)
Captain Blasto (Blasto)
SVER Soldier (MAG)
Raven Soldier (MAG)
Valor Soldier (MAG)
Eucadian Soldier (Warhawk)
Chernovan Soldier (Warhawk)
Those are all off the top of my head! Did I miss any? Either way, with the amount of exclusive characters that Sony has racked up over the years, I think it's about damn time for a fighter!
