November 9, 2009 at 5:48 pm #15044Doctor_Rock MemberYeah, so my PS3 broke on me today. I've tried putting in any disc I could find to see if it could work, but the disc drive isn't recognizing it. Has this happened to any one? It looks like it acknowledges there is something there but doesn't accept it. I called Sony tech support and they said that it wouold cost £99 for a straight swap or £249 for an repair. I figured if there was no way to fix it, I may as well buy a new one! Anyone know of any cheap bundles knocking around in the UK? I've searched most of the normal sites but was wondering if any others were knocking around? November 9, 2009 at 5:57 pm #49495Finch_92 Memberunlucky mate the exact same thing happened to me plus i was out of warrenty and had broke the seal i phoned sony and got this cool geezer who said no problem we will get you a new 1 free of charge asap… 3 days later a guy came picked it up and gave me another 1 it all depends who you speak to i would try phoning sony again and demanding a replacement as its not your fault it suddenly stopped working. November 9, 2009 at 5:57 pm #49496Ninjacat MemberI saw Argos were doing Uncharted 2, LBP and MW2 with a slim for a reasonable price a few weeks back. November 22, 2009 at 9:32 pm #50706Doctor_Rock MemberAlright, I've found a pack, just need one more thing. Does the slim line PS3 use the same type of hard drive? November 22, 2009 at 9:43 pm #50707GHOST305 MemberMy friend just got a slim and it does use the same hard drive size (2.5 SATA) bc he just switched his factory one out with his other one. November 24, 2009 at 12:37 am #50833Nodanod Memberlol, the only thing i would say is DONT change ur mind if u come across a cheap old fat ps3, often the lettle saving aint worth it – when my 60 gb broke it was just inside warranty, but i've had a refurbished one for 6 months now – its hardly been that healthy, but still going…just. Slims defo seem 2 be better, not 2 mention quiter, soooo annoyed at my fans whirring everytime i watch a DVD, have 2 pause every 10 mins to let it cool :@ November 24, 2009 at 2:24 am #50845 November 24, 2009 at 2:24 am #50845W4RG34R3D_SN1P3R MemberI still pretty much leak myself when i think of the day my 60gb can go crashing down on me . I mean what if i lose all my data ? What if i never get another PS3 ? OH THE PRESSURE !! November 24, 2009 at 11:01 pm #50920parnakas MemberOh i should have posted this earlier.. you can get some GREAT deals on eBay.. just got to know who your buying from obviously, my friend got a 60GB PS3, with a 5 Year Warranty from Future Shop (Canadian store), two Sixaxis controllers, and 2 games, on eBay, all for the low price of $200 Canadian.
