'The Spawn of Lost Creation' from the album Slaves of the World by Old Man's Child.

I bought this about two years ago and never gave it much time. It's a bit “we is so evil” in terms of lyrics but the musicianship is good. The drummer (Reno H. Kiilerich) is a mad fcuker and while maybe not the tightest chap around he certainly makes up for it with effort.

'Life Deprived' from the album In Defiance of Existence by Old Man's Child

One of the first extreme metal albums I ever bought. I ordered it because I was a fan of the drummer Nick Barker and the cover art was awesome.

I know what you mean about the bland graphics and environments, the game has the look of a last-gen shooter given a cheap HD make-over.

But I can't be entirely negative about it either, the game avoided two of my biggest problems with recent shooters; the guns feel solid and weighty and sound like I'm firing a weapon; the scripting was kept to a minimum. I got to play through several set-pieces and take part in a decent story without being walked througth the game at the exact pace set by the developer.

I've yet to try the multiplayer but if it's even half as bad as it sounds then I'll be ignoring it. Too many excellent games sitting on my shelf and on my pre-order list to be wasting time with also-rans.

I haven't been too disappointed in Homefront. Although that could be because it got slated so much I was expecting an utter disgrace of a game. I've only played the SP and it wasn't anything to shout about, or even remember… But lately I've been let down by the SP in a lot of shooters so that's nothing new.

Some of the trophies look retarded though. The multiplayer is probably dying off already yet some of the trophies have GRIND written all over them. And the 16 people in a party trophy is just complete bollocks.

Just got my Killzone 3 Plat and I'm about to launch into Homefront. The reviews have slated it and the score on the box 9/10 is from ZOO magasine, which isn't exactly a gaming authority. Still, I'll give it a shot.

Let me In was the last film I watched as well. I enjoyed it. The pacing worked well and it was something different. One or two of the CG moments were mingin though.

Spent most of the evening playing BC2: Vietnam with gr8jrfan. The servers are finally working and we got in quite a few solid games. I've had that DLC for months and I'm still impressed.

PS3 server crashed in the end though

KZ3 elite is sorted. Very surprised at how limp the last area was when the fight against Radec in KZ2 was as hard as I've come across.

Just four of the online trophies to get for the plat; be part of a squad; brutal melee; exo kill and a mid-air kill. Less than an hour's playtime if I'm lucky.
